At the beginning of the year, on January 6, 2025, we had a unique opportunity to participate in research conducted by Dr. Łukasz Oleksy in Lublin. The players of Motor Lublin underwent a comprehensive evaluation, performing a series of physical tests under the supervision of the Oleksy Sport team. Modern measurement tools were used for these tests. We had the chance to observe closely how biomechanical assessments are organized for top sports teams.
During the evaluation, the Theia motion capture system was used, which Dr. Oleksy had recently shown us during guest research at our laboratory, as well as other high-class tools (such as the Nordbord, which we are already familiar with) used to monitor muscle forces and the movement parameters of the athletes.
Our visit, just like our training trip on the use of the Anybody system at OTH University in Regensburg, was made possible thanks to the Biomedical Engineering Excellence Cluster of Poznan University of Technology, which we represent. Our representatives – Dr. Eng. Martyna Białecka and M.Sc. Eng. Martyna Sopa – thanks to their membership in the Cluster’s activities, have the opportunity to not only expand their knowledge and experience through training trips but also to be part of a group of the best scientists at Poznań University of Technology, involved in the field of biomedical engineering.
