Grand opening of the new Laboratory of Biomechanics

On February 23, 2024, our new Laboratory of Biomechanis was inaugurated. The most significant change involved relocating the equipment to a larger and higher room. This relocation provided us with the opportunity to optimize the placement of cameras for our motion capture system. The expanded space now allows us to conduct various types of tests involving jumps or requiring additional equipment to be brought into the laboratory, such as in our windsurfing project.

Furthermore, we acquired new measuring equipment, including portable stabilometric platforms and a lengthy track for recording ground reaction forces and foot pressure. The pressure distribution is captured as a map.

The move has energized us to embark on new projects, including those involving markerless systems in research. The opening event itself was filled with warmth, as we welcomed a group of friends of the Laboratory of Biomechanics, whose unwavering support has been instrumental in our success.
